The Road Less Travelled 2016 edition takes us to the Gaspé Peninsula located south of the St Lawrence River extending into the Gulf of St Lawrence. The journey starts in Montreal where we first travel south to Mt Washington. We slowly make our way north-east passing through Bangor and Presque Isle. In the Gaspé we travel to Lands End and visit the city of Percé where we find Percé Rock and île Bonaventure. In Matane we hop on a ferry to the North Shore where we make our way to Quebec City.

Carleton-sur-Mer to Land's End - Percé
We had a short visit in Carleton-sur-Mer. After trekking along the boardwalk by the beach, we spotted a pub with a view. We seemed to be the only patrons willing to sit outside but the sun was warm and the beer was cold. Great afternoon
The next morning we were on the road to Percé. Beautiful sunny day with some good spots to stretch our legs. Approaching Percé, the magnificent rock revealed itself as we rounded the curves.
We had a really great afternoon visiting the shops and taking the boat tour of Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island. The view from our rooms was amazing and we spent a the evening enjoying iced tea on the lawn. That night, our dinner was amazing both nights at Maison du Pêcheur and our hotel La Normandie.
Our memory includes a breathtaking sunset and watching the sunrise this morning, both absolutely stunning.
